An Egg Hunt for Everyone!

Easter is a time of joy, family and fun-filled traditions like hunting for colorful eggs. But for many children and young adults with disabilities, traditional egg hunts can present barriers that make full participation difficult. That’s why the Accessible Egg Hunt, returning for its second year, is making sure everyone can join in on the fun!

On April 12th at 11 AM, Lions Park in Mount Brydges will transform into an inclusive, welcoming space where children, young adults and their families can enjoy an egg hunt designed with accessibility in mind. This free event is open to any child, young adult and their families—including siblings and cousins—who have any disability or accessibility need. The hunt will take place along accessible, groomed trails, ensuring a smooth experience for wheelchairs and mobility devices. Grab bars will be available to help participants and their families collect eggs with ease.

To create a stress-free environment, families will be spaced out along the trails, allowing them to enjoy the hunt at their own pace and in a way that works best for them. If specific accommodations are needed, families can request them through the event registration page at https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/1256072148609?aff=oddtdtcreator.

Beyond the excitement of finding Easter eggs, attendees can look forward to a fun-filled day with:

–  A delicious lunch provided inside the Lions building
–  Face painting
–  Raffle prizes from generous local businesses and sponsors
–  Music and entertainment
–  Prizes for all participants

Families will also have the opportunity to connect with accessibility professionals, including representatives from Ontario Home Health, accessibility consultants, and mobility experts who can provide valuable information on accessible living solutions.

The Accessible Egg Hunt was created by a dedicated mother and mobility consultant who understands firsthand the challenges of finding inclusive events. This event wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support of community sponsors, including Ontario Home Health, Nurturing Behaviours, Synergy Realty, Moyra Fenn (Realtor), Nuance Osteopathy, Pop a Wheelie, and more.

Celebrate Easter while supporting inclusivity, accessibility and community connection. This event is proof that small changes can create big impacts, ensuring that no child is left out of the Easter fun!
