No Family Should Go Hungry during Covid-19

“Our Home Not Hungry initiative has come to an end. A huge thank you to our community who helped us feed over 3000 families. Please contact www.londonfoodbank.ca if you require further help. Stay safe, with love from the Mom & Caregiver.”

The Mom & Caregiver has partnered with some amazing Local London Restaurants in the wake of this global pandemic to support our Community!  We want to help London families who are struggling to put food on the table.  We know there are so many families in our community who rely on lunch programs at school and ongoing food programs to feed their families, and now they are left without that support.

We are all doing our part to help flatten the curve by staying home. The Mom & Caregiver wants to make sure that while you’re Home, you’re not Hungry.

Our goal was to provide 500 meals to the families in our community who would otherwise be struggling to put food on the table.  As of June 4th, 2000 meals have been delivered. Every Thursday, meals will be donated to London families by our participating restaurants.

Home Not Hungry Testimonials:

Dear Mom and Caregiver:

Thank you so very much for the meal that was delivered to us last night.  It was delicious and there was plenty to go around and for everyone to have seconds.  We really do appreciate the help at this difficult time.  I am a grandmother, who just got permanent custody of my 4 growing and hungry grandchildren and I’m still learning how to be efficient and successful at meal planning.  You got it right on last night with the amount and the choice of what everyone would like to eat. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

My family and I are truly grateful and blessed to have this wonderful meal.  We thank all for your hard work and effort. Much appreciated.

Stay safe.

Hello and thank you guys so much for the meal last night. It was an amazing surprise to get it delivered just in time for dinner. We really appreciate all you are doing and want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

A true kindness is never forgotten and my family and I will never forget the kindness of Marshall’s Pasta and Bakery Dinner and The Mom and Caregiver.
Tonight, we enjoyed your out-of-this-world pasta, cheesy garlic bread and divine chocolate chip cookies, but you gave us something else, the anticipation of the meal, the experience of having such amazing food made for us, the memories it has created, and the hope for better times.
Thank you. It was such a lovely supper and an even lovelier gesture of kindness. I won’t forget it and will tell others how delicious and high-quality your food is, I could taste the caring in each bite.
And to The Mom and Caregiver, I can’t tell you how often I’ve read and reread your magazines. Thoughtful, helpful, quality, factual and caring, they light up the London and area magazine scene, helping parents, a resource always there. We have many children, some with special needs in our family and everyone is struggling right now in this pandemic, but those with children even more so, and adding special needs to all this, well, I can only think of how blessed we are there are wonderful people and companies out there, looking out for the vulnerable, trying to add some hope, some happiness and some kindness to there lives.
Words are not enough, but I’ll try “Thank You” again. It’s not just a meal, it’s a hand saying, “You’re not alone”. Thank you.

Yes, I did receive dinner last night, it was an amazing surprise! My family thanks you all and are deeply appreciative! You are all amazing angels and are doing such an amazing thing for people during such a hard time! Hope you and your families are all staying safe and healthy during this horrible time. Thank you once again for your generosity, you made our day!

Thank you so much. A delicious pasta, garlic cheese bread meal, with chocolate chip cookie desert was delivered just before 6 pm from Marshall’s Pasta restaurant. The serving sizes were so huge it will last for a few meals. Everything was delicious and perfect. Great timing too as I just received the unfortunate news yesterday that my employer is putting me on indefinite unpaid leave so a hot, delicious meal was just the pick me up needed for a difficult day. Thank you again for your generosity and kindness.

Thanks for making our day shine?.

My family and I would love to thank you all for the wonderful meal we’ve been blessed to receive.  We would like to thank all the people that helped with this wonderful venture.   Every little bit helps, and I ate with tears in my eyes.  Thank you again.

Good evening,
I just wanted to write a quick thank to the Mom & Caregiver team, as well too all the organizations involved – you truly have no idea what this meant to not only my brother, but to our whole family!!
I am his older sister, and I submitted an application for him. Over the past two years my mom and I have transitioned the caregiver role for my brother. Further to Covid, on family day our mom broke her arm in two places and subsequently underwent surgery, as a result it had been an exceptionally challenging time, not only taking care of my own family, but also navigating the needs of my brother and our mom. After my mom told me about Home Not Hungry, I submitted the application and for some reason the email advising of the delivery went to my junk mail, thus as a result the delivery was truly a surprise, and one that touched far beyond then just my brother! Not only did it make his day, it made my daughter’s when she answered the door, it absolutely made mine as I delivered it to him and we shared it (while he was in bed) and I told him how it came to fruition and it even reduced my mom to tears to hear all about it!

This meal was so much more then a meal for our family,  and it couldn’t have came at a better time! When the delivery came, my brother had not been feeling well and was bedridden for two days and not only was it delicious, it lifted ALL of our spirits!

Thank you to everyone involved for going out of your way for my family, especially as it relates to my mom and my brother both of which are absolutely two of London’s most positive people and you definitely caught them in their most (individually) vulnerable moments.
Above all, thank  you all, beyond words, for making this time an opportunity to remind us all of the incredible community in which we are so proud to be apart of!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, for my family to all of yours,
