No Bad Foods. Just Better Choices.

Canadian Thanksgiving marks the start of the holiday season — and with it comes the annual anxiety around food. Let me save you the stress right now: there are no bad foods. There is only a lack of strategy.

The holiday table is not the enemy. Enjoy it. Be present. Savour every bite with the people you love. That is exactly what this time of year is for. Here’s the plan:

Eat before you arrive. A protein-rich snack beforehand means you sit down satisfied — not starving. Starving leads to overdoing it before the turkey even lands on your plate.

Build your plate with intention. Fill half with vegetables, a quarter with protein, a quarter with the good stuff you only get once a year. Then enjoy every bite without guilt.

Slow down. Your brain needs twenty minutes to register fullness. Put the fork down between bites. Stay in the conversation. The food isn’t going anywhere.

The holidays are meant to fill your cup — not empty it. Enjoy Thanksgiving fully and email me at coachkcope@gmail.com for my free Holiday Eating Survival Guide.

Next Month: Staying on track through the holiday season — simple habits that carry you into the New Year.
