Day Camps are Like Neverland!

Camp is a magical place and there is nothing else genuinely like it. We have heard it described before as “Neverland” and I remember thinking how beautifully accurate that was. A place where kids are encouraged to play, imagine, laugh, dream, and explore! Just a group of kids (the lost boys) and a counselor (Peter Pan) off on an adventure. Whether it be overnight or day camp, there is no limit to the joy campers can experience!  

You may be asking, what sets YMCA Day Camps apart from others around us? The answer is, not a whole lot (except for one thing, that is). Today, we are truly fortunate to have options and be surrounded by fantastic camps, with specific programming like sports, robotics, drama and even carpentry camp. All are packed with days of learning and fun.

However, the one true difference with YMCA camps is our Core Values of Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, Inclusion, and Caring always being at the root of all that we do. So, while your camper is off with their fellow ‘lost children’ exploring, laughing, dreaming and having fun, they are also learning how to be caring, inclusive, responsible, respectful, and honest individuals ready to jump in and contribute to their community. We truly believe that when the time comes for Y campers to be the next generation of ‘Peter Pans’, they will be ready.
