Get Back into Routine After the Holidays

We all love the holidays but they can definitely throw us off our game. Here are a few things I do to get myself back into a routine for the new year:

  1. Exercise – Moving your body is incredibly good for your health. It boosts your energy, promotes more restful sleep and increases confidence.
  2. Tip: Set a workout schedule that works for you. Set your alarm, lay out your workout clothes the night before and no excuses. 


  3.  Nutrition – Eating nutritious meals are so important to our overall health. Eating fruits, vegetables, healthy fats, lean sources of protein and complex carbohydrates is key. Cook from home and avoid eating out. Stay away from sugar, alcohol and processed foods. 
  4. Tip: If you’re having a hard time with your diet try keeping a food journal to track the foods you’re eating. Also look into working with a nutritionist that can help make you a diet plan.  


  5. Stay Hydrated – Drink lots of water throughout the day (aim for 8 cups a day). When we are thirsty it can trick the brain into thinking we are hungry. So, staying hydrated will prevent overeating.  

Tip: Always have a water bottle with you and fill it up as often as you can
