Keepin’ It Safe and Havin’ Fun!

We’re all about keeping it safe and having fun this month! Amongst the best combos in this world (peanut butter and jelly, Bert and Ernie, mac and cheese), we find the fun/safe combo to be one of the greatest! In tribute, we bring you the best in family safety and family fun this November.

First up: we want to take a moment to remember why we enjoy the safety, security and freedoms we have here in Canada. Thank you to all those who have served, past and present. We are truly thankful and will remember you this Remembrance Day and always.

Next up: Car Seat Safety. I remember being pregnant and looking at my husband like “are we doing this right?” as we tried to figure out the new infant seat we brought home from the store. So we’re here to help all new or soon-to-be parents. Read Middlesex-London Health Unit’s tips (page 6) to make sure your newborn is safe.

Lastly, have you heard of the Triple Threat? It encompasses COVID, flu and RSV, and unfortunately it’s coming for you this fall! But there is something you can do about it. Find out about the Triple Response in Dr. Bhayana’s page 7 article.

Now, onto some fun ideas to celebrate November: “An Apple Themed Playdate” is just what you need to make a regular day into a festive get-together. Find out how on page 14. And if you’re looking to put a smile on your face, you won’t want to miss our new Kid Zone writers (think a black panther and a panda making inventions). Confused? Well, you’ll just have to check out their page 11 article. Or have fun with tween slang (“I’m not mid – I’ve got rizz cause I’m the GOAT, bruh!”) Confused again? Adults can brush up their lingo to keep up with the kids on page 19.

November is also my birthday month! The older I get, the more I realize the most fun is giving, not getting, on your bday, so stay tuned to our socials for some amazing giveaways this November!

Get out this month and enjoy. But like good parents always warn, “Have fun, but be safe!”
