November: The Month Your House Starts Talking Back
November has arrived, which means three things: it’s dark by 5 p.m., someone has already mentioned Christmas, and your house has suddenly developed opinions.
The furnace is making a weird noise. The thermostat says 21°, but your toes strongly disagree.
Someone is standing beside you saying, “Do you hear that?” No. No, you do not. Because you are currently trying to remember if you packed lunches, paid the daycare bill, bought milk, and where on earth that missing mitten went. Welcome to November.
For moms and caregivers, this time of year can feel like the Olympics of keeping everyone warm, fed, organized and somewhat on schedule. So, before winter really gets going, give your home a little attention too.
Check the furnace filter. Make sure your vents aren’t blocked by furniture, toys or the mysterious collection of stuff that somehow lives in front of every vent. Test your carbon monoxide and smoke alarms. And if your furnace sounds like it’s preparing for takeoff, maybe don’t ignore it.
That’s where Jayden’s Mechanical comes in. Our job is to worry about the furnace, heat pump, fireplace and all the mechanical things you probably don’t want to Google at 10 p.m. Because you already have enough on your plate.
This November, let someone else handle the mechanical stuff. You handle the snacks, schedules, school bags and approximately 47 daily questions that begin with “Mom…”
