Puzzle Piece Pastries
The kids will be thrilled to make these edible puzzles. Just use your favourite cookie dough recipe, and roll the dough into a rough rectangle. Place rectangle on the cookie sheet you will bake your cookies on. Let the kids use cookie cutters to cut out shapes, making a scene. But don’t scrap that extra dough. Leave the background on your cookie sheet to bake. Transfer the cut cookies to a second cookie sheet. Bake as per your recipe instructions (the background may take longer to bake than the cookies). Once done baking, if the cookies have spread, trim them a little with a sharp knife while they are warm to be sure they’ll fit in your puzzle (this is an adult job!) Allow them to cool before letting the kids go crazy with icing and decorations. Put your puzzle together, then don’t be afraid to gobble it up!
