Remembrance Day Through our Children’s Eyes

Why is Remembrance Day important?

Lander – It’s important because it celebrates the veterans.

Adi – I’ll say the same as my brother.

Do you do anything special at school on Remembrance Day?

Lander and Adi – We have a concert.

What does peace mean to you?

Lander– Peace means that everyone is kind and the world is a good place.

Adi – Peace means to be respectful.

Why do you think we wear poppies on Remembrance Day?

Lander – To remember the soldiers that died.

Adi – We wear poppies to remember.

Meet our new Kid Zone writers, 10 and 6 year old siblings, Lander and Adi! Each month, they’ll be sharing perspectives on life as a child sees it.
