Standing Together, Celebrating Home
As July approaches, many families across Canada are pulling out red-and-white gear, prepping for parades, or mapping out long-weekend picnics in parks. Canada Day is a time to reflect on our shared identity and the values that make this country feel like home—kindness, diversity, fairness and the belief that every family deserves safety, dignity and opportunity.
This year, it’s impossible to ignore the emotional weight many of us are carrying. As parents, we worry that the leader to our south is threatening the freedoms, joys and beliefs we have held in the past. This Canada Day feels different. It’s a reminder not to take anything for granted.
Let’s use this moment not just to celebrate, but to teach. To show our children what it means to care for our neighbours, to speak up for what’s right, and to build a country where everyone—regardless of race, identity or background—can thrive.
The Mom & Caregiver is proud to be a Canadian company, fully owned, operated, written and produced in Canada! Check out the fabulous Canadian summertime content in our July issue:
- Our youngest writers, Adi and Lander, share why they’re Proud to be Canadian on page 11 of our patriotic issue.
- You’ll also meet our cover kid, Ethan, through the loving words of his mama on page 8.
- Dad, Jeremy McCall, proclaims that Summer’s Here – Make the Most of It! He’ll have you riding the Thames Valley Parkway and splashing at the Springbank wading pool this summer – find out more on page 18.
- Lastly, we hear from local experts, Custom Orthotics, about Healthy Feet, Healthy Kids on page 21.
From The Mom & Caregiver family to your family, we wish you the happiest of Canada Days! May it be a time of love, strength, connection and a celebration of the true north strong and free!
