What’s Happening This Spring?

Spring has finally arrived, and we couldn’t be more excited! There’s so much going on this month – we can’t wait to get out there and enjoy what the season has to offer!

April kicks off with the highly anticipated Solar Eclipse on the 8th – The public and Catholic school boards in London and area have declared this a P.D. Day, so have some fun with the kids at home. But be sure to stay safe. Exposing your eyes to the sun without proper eye protection during a solar eclipse can cause “eclipse blindness” or retinal burns, also known as solar retinopathy. Get the proper eyewear so you can safely watch this rare occurrence (viewing glasses and educational material are available at Featherfields).

Saturday, April 13th brings the return of Featherfields’ FREE drop-in kids’ classes – These start at 10:30 am at our Wortley location. But visit us anytime with your little ones as this location is a beautiful place for kids to explore, be inspired, and to see books and toys to add to their birthday wish lists!

We are also welcoming Earth Day on April 22nd – Earth Day is celebrated to raise awareness and support for environmental protection. The first Earth Day was held in 1970, and it is now observed by millions of people in over 190 countries around the world. Earth Day is a great time to get involved in the many activities and events being held in the city. Earth Fest 2024, held in downtown London on Saturday, April 20th, is a fantastic family-friendly event full of vendors, music, food and kids’ activities.

Featherfields is a London legacy, and spring is the perfect time to get to know us better. There are few shops better tailored to the love of the outdoors than Featherfields. What started 27 years ago on Hyde Park Road has now expanded to another store in Wortley Village. We are rooted in a love of nature, and we have something for everyone!
