Red-Nosed Reindeer Cake Pops

I had you at cake pop, didn’t I? This one is a hit with the kids – something to fill a festive afternoon, that’s relatively easy to do! 

Ingredients

1 chocolate cake (follow instructions on box)
2 Tbsp of chocolate fudge frosting
12 oz of brown chocolate candy melts (divided)
Small pretzels, broken into ‘antler’ shaped pieces
24 red jellybeans, Smarties or M&Ms
White icing or candy eyes for eyes
Icing for mouth

Equipment
24 cake pop sticks
Styrofoam block to stand up cake pops

Instructions

  1. Crumble the cake info fine crumbs in a bowl using your hands. 
  2. Add the chocolate frosting to the cake crumbs and mix well using your hands until it all sticks together. 
  3. Roll cake into 24 small balls. 
  4. Melt 6 of the chocolate wafers in the microwave on in a double boiler on the stovetop. 
  5. Dip cake pop sticks in the melted chocolate and then insert the chocolate-covered end of stick into each ball. 
  6. Place sticks on a tray lined with parchment paper and chill in fridge for at least 2 hours.
  7. Melt the rest of the chocolate wafers. Take a cake pop and dip in the chocolate. Shake gently until the excess has dripped off. Push into Styrofoam block so it is standing up. Insert two pretzel ‘antlers’ in each one and add a red nose with the jelly bean, Smartie or M&M. 
  8. Repeat with all other cake pops. Let set for 20 minutes. Using premade icing, pipe on eyes and a mouth. You can also use candy eyes for the eyes instead of icing.
