Strawberry Watermelon Slushie Drinks

Who doesn’t love a slushie drink on a hot summer’s day?! These are bound to be a hit with the kids, from young to old. You can also reduce or leave out the sugar if you don’t want them too sweet or want to limit added sugars for the littles.

Hosting a backyard BBQ for the big kids (aka adults)? Make them into ‘special’ slushies and add a shot of vodka, rum or gin and garnish with some mint! (You’re welcome!)

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup of lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar, honey or maple syrup
  • 2 cups of frozen, seedless watermelon, cut into cubes
  • 2 cups of strawberries, cut in half
  • 1 cups of ice cubes

Directions

  1. The day before you plan to make the slushies, cut the watermelon into cubes and place in large freezable bag and place in freezer.
  2. When ready to prepare, put first 4 ingredients into blender, cover and blend until smooth.
  3. Add ice, cover and blend until slushy.
  4. Enjoy!
